Business Analyst in Planning Team Work location: Kraków, Zabierzów (pow. krakowski) Job description : The Business Analyst position will be responsible for providing proactive and effective support to the Upstream International organization – supporting SIEP Central MI Team. The candidate must be able to demonstrate knowledge and expertise to perform his work independently with minimal supervision. The Business Analyst must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills as well as strong communication skills and be capable of developing effective relationships with his Business Stakeholders. The Business Analyst will also handle a variety of financial/business activities related to Month-end close and reporting. This includes Processing of Manual Journal Entries (MJE’s); Processing Cost and Revenue Accruals; Monthly Business Review Data; Preparation and Analysis of MI packs; Engagement with key Stakeholders etc. to state some of the activities. The Business Analyst will also handle a variety of financial/business activities related to Monthly MI, support to Budgeting/Latest Estimates. This position should strongly support the FIBs and FMs in consolidating the financial/MI data across LOB’s. The Business Analyst is also expected to identify opportunities for optimization, streamlining processes and achieving greater organizational efficiency. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Executes production and analysis of Management Information ensuring first quartile quality standards. •Responsible for the design, creation and delivery of UIO (Upstream International Operated) MI pack. Also responsible for delivery of other ongoing manual MI reports for UI NOV (Upstream International Non-operated Ventures). •Responsible for Month close activities, Accrual analysis, Control Operations, Time writing Analysis for the LOBs. •Assist Finance Managers/ Finance in the Business with the Planning, LE (Latest Estimates) process for LOB (Line of Business) Costs including collecting and reviewing the Planning/LE data. •Provide reliable financial data (Actual, LE, and Variance analysis) to the Finance Managers and Finance in the Business staff. •Ensure Data Quality is at an adequate level by running checks on a monthly basis. •Manages workloads, multiple demands and request, and competing priorities to ensure deadlines are met while maintaining a high quality and integrity of deliverables. •Proactively manages relationships with the Business Finance Managers/Leads/Analyst in multiple LOBs. Process Improvements: •Independently troubleshoot issues that arise, make adjustments and corrections as needed, within delegated authorities and responsibilities. •Perform ongoing review of desk processes and procedures and proactively seek enhancements. Provide data supporting proposed changes and related impacts to the Team Manager or Operations Manager for review. •Evaluate cost/ benefits of actions. Recommend alternatives if current approach could be done in a more cost effective manner while achieving the business objective. Financial dimensions: •Provide support and Fit for purpose MI to the FMs/FIBs. •Co-ordinate Plan/LE information for the LOBs, budget $250M. •To post monthly accruals to the extent of $10M. Key challenges: •Interacting with Multiple Business Partners and taking timely / right decisions. •Candidate must possess the ability to work on different tasks concurrently, often with tight deadlines. •Ability to work with many diverse individuals in a team environment is essential. •High level of Master data set up knowledge in SERP is essential as the candidate to be dealt with multiple scenarios. •Effectively and promptly identifying and resolving any problems during month-end close is key to meeting closing schedule.
